GuayaMotion - the genesis of a stop-motion collective
How four short films transformed our approach to the animated medium.
GuayaMotion was born of a simple desire: not just to sculpt frozen characters. Give them movement, frame after frame, at 12 frames per second.
Marimonda, Bad Bunny, Saint Patrick, Poisson d'avril: four projects in 2026, four aesthetics. Each short film uses hundreds of frames, retouched one by one. The result is jerky, imperfect, alive.
Next step: a group exhibition in September 2026 in Toulouse to showcase the films and sets.
